Below are the Centennial Celebration grants awarded in Hartford:
Mark Twain House & Museum
Lincoln Financial Foundation awarded a $1,000,000 grant to The Mark Twain House & Museum. The grant, the largest awarded by the Lincoln Financial Foundation to the Hartford community, will support the Museum's mission to foster an appreciation of the legacy of Mark Twain and to demonstrate the continuing relevance of his work, life and times.
The Center's 180-seat auditorium has been named the Lincoln Financial Auditorium and serves as a venue for lectures and symposia, programs for families, dramatic performances, and an annual public event hosted by Lincoln Financial Group. In addition, it hosts national distance learning programs and interactive Web-based resources for students and teachers, curriculum development and teacher training programs. Local students and teachers also use the auditorium for educational programming.

Greater Hartford Arts Council
The Greater Hartford Arts Council received a $500,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation to create the Lincoln Financial Sculpture Park at Riverwalk along the banks of the Connecticut River in both Hartford and East Hartford.
Approximately 20 large- and small-scale sculpture pieces will be part of the sculpture park. Each piece of sculpture will be reflective of Abraham Lincoln's legacy, either as a likeness of him or an interpretation of the 16th President's values and life experiences. The values Lincoln is known for, such as unity, equality, integrity and perseverance, are still relevant today. The sculpture park will be completed in three years.
The sculpture park will present a unique outdoor museum accessible to all Hartford-area residents free of charge. It will build increased traffic flow for Riverwalk and the various riverfront parks as well as enhance Hartford's tourist attractions. Educational materials also will be developed to augment the history, social studies and arts education curriculum for local school children.
