Capitol Center for the Arts
The Capitol Center for the Arts' ground breaking education program has been named the Lincoln Financial Group School Series in recognition of a $20,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation.
The grant supports the Concord performing arts center' program that serves school districts from across New Hampshire and that brings more than 25,000 students a year to the Capitol Center to see curriculum-based shows by national and international performance groups. The Capitol Center's education program also includes professional development workshops for teachers and visiting artist workshops in the schools.
The 200708 Lincoln Financial Group School Series will run from November 2007 through May 2008 and will present between 15 and 20 shows. Shows in the School Series are directly linked to local and state curriculum standards and provide an additional entry point for K12 students into literature, social studies, and arts that are under study in the classroom. The Capitol Center also opens many of its school performances to community and senior groups as part of its Daytime Series.
