LINCOLN NEW DIRECTIONS® FIXED INDEXED ANNUITY
With a Lincoln New Directions® fixed indexed annuity, you can choose to allocate between 0% and 100% of your money in the Fixed Account. It offers a fixed interest rate that is guaranteed for the first six or eight contract years, depending on the product you choose. With the Fixed Account, you will always know in advance the rate that you are earning.
If you would like to know the current Fixed Account rate for Lincoln New Directions® annuities, contact your financial representative. The current Fixed Account rate may change every contract year after the first six- or eight-year period, but it is guaranteed to never be less than the Guaranteed Minimum Fixed Interest Rate.
The following are some quick facts about the Fixed Account:
- The initial interest rate is guaranteed for six or eight years, depending on the product chosen.
- Subsequent interest rates are declared annually.
- The subsequent interest rate will never be lower than the Guaranteed Minimum Interest Rate in effect for that year.
- Fixed Account interest is credited daily.

Taxes are due upon withdrawal, and if withdrawn before age 59 1/2, may be subject to a 10% premature distribution penalty. There is no additional tax deferral benefit for contracts purchased in an IRA or other tax-qualified plan, since these are already afforded tax-deferred status. Therefore, an annuity should only be purchased in an IRA or qualified plan if the client values some of the other features of the annuity.
