Janet Liang serves as executive vice president, group president and chief operating officer, care delivery, for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals and is a member of Kaiser Permanente’s National Executive Team. Liang is accountable for Kaiser Permanente’s California markets serving over 9.2 million members, in addition to directing strategy and innovation in care delivery operations across the nation which includes its 500-store pharmacy organization, 36 hospitals and related ancillary, telehealth and digital clinical services. She directs a workforce of 140,000 team members.
Liang joined Kaiser Permanente in 2007. Prior to her current role, she was the president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals of Hawaii for 7 years and held executive roles over a 15-year career at Group Health Cooperative, a regional health plan and healthcare provider in Washington state.
Liang is on the Board of Medically Home, LLC a healthcare technology and services platform supporting hospital care at home and has served on numerous community boards supporting socioeconomic development and closing disparities among underserved populations. She currently serves on the board executive committees of the Bay Area Council, the California Chamber of Commerce, the American Hospital Association’s Institute for Diversity and Health Equity and Futuro Health, an education-to-work organization dedicated to allied health careers.
Liang holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston University and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Washington.
